2020 Nissan Altima
The Nissan Altima was redesigned last year and now it’s entering 2020 with a host of minor updates.
The entry-level Altima S starts at $24,100 which is a slight increase of $100. Since the model was all-new last year, changes are relatively minor but include a newly available Driver Assist Package which includes the Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance systems.
There’s no word on how much the package will cost, but it adds safety features such as front automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning and rear cross traffic alert. Other highlights include high beam assist, a blind spot warning system and rear automatic braking.
The Altima SR starts at $25,700 which is an increase of $350. That’s a minor increase, but the model now comes standard with the aforementioned Safety Shield 360 suite of driver assistance systems.
The Altima SV and SL largely carryover as the only change is the addition of piano black interior trim. The SV is $300 cheaper than before, while the SL climbs $150.
Lastly, the range-topping Platinum starts at $32,180 which is $150 more than last year’s model. It gains piano black trim as well as a memory function for the mirrors.
Engine options remain unchanged and the entry-level unit is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 188 hp (140 kW / 191 PS) and 180 lb-ft (244 Nm) of torque. It is connected an Xtronic transmission which sends power to the front wheels. Models equipped with the base engine can also be outfitted with an optional all-wheel drive system.
Drivers looking for something more powerful can opt for a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder that develops up to 248 hp (185 kW / 251 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque. It is also connected to an Xtronic transmission, but is only available with front-wheel drive.
The 2020 Nissan Altima is currently on sale at dealerships in the United States.
