Do you yearn for a fast and powerful pickup truck that doesn’t look as brash as the Ford F-150 Raptor R or Ram 1500 TRX? If that sounds like your idea of fun then TC Customs may just have the perfect truck for you.
The tuner recently announced what it refers to as the Sleeper F-150 and it is just oh-so cool. It is being sold through the Ford Town & Country dealership in Pell City, Alabama, and starts out with a base 2024 F-150 Regular Cab with the available 5.0-liter V8 and then fitted with a 2.65-liter supercharger from Roush. The result is a truck with 705 hp that costs a measly $46,998, less than half that of a new F-150 Raptor R with 700 hp.
Given that the truck is based around a base F-150, it looks extremely subtle and unimposing with black bumpers and basic wheels. Other motorists would have absolutely no idea of what is hiding under the hood, hence why the tuner calls it is a sleeper.
For as compelling as the package is at this price point, it’s worth noting that it is based on a rear-wheel-drive F-150, meaning owners will somehow have to manage 705 hp and 635 lb-ft (861 Nm) of torque being transmitted to the pavement through just two wheels.
Ask any Mustang owner and they’ll confirm that achieving this won’t be an easy task, particularly if there are even just a few drops of rain on the road. It’s also worth noting that TC Customs does not complement the engine upgrades with new brakes nor is the upgrade package approved for sale in California or states that require an EO number.
Fortunately, the kit does come with a 3-year / 36,000-mile powertrain warranty should anything start playing up with the boosted engine. However, this warranty will not cover you if you’re unable to control all 705 horses and slam into a tree.
