Final pricing for the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E has been announced for the Australian market, prior to it touching down on local shores in Q4.
Ford Australia first opened order books for the Mustang Mach-E in May and said that the range would consist of three models; the Mach-E Select, Mach-E Premium, and Mach-E GT, priced from AU$79,990 ($53,972), AU$99,990 ($67,466), and AU$108,990 ($73,539) respectively. However, it has now been confirmed that the Mach-E Premium’s price has dropped to AU$91,665 ($61,849) while the flagship Mach-E GT is now available from AU$107,665 ($72,645) plus on-road costs.
It is unclear why Ford has tweaked pricing so soon to the car’s launch but it has confirmed that those customers who placed an order prior to this week will be charged the new price.
Powering all three versions of the Mustang Mach-E is a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery that in the Select, has a capacity of 71 kWh. This pack drives an electric motor at the rear axle with 198 kW (266 hp) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. This model can travel up to 470 km (292 miles) on a single charge.
Battery capacity is increased to 91 kWh for the Mach-E Premium and the car’s rear-mounted motor has been uprated to 216 kW (290 hp) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. The bigger battery boosts the range of this model to 323 miles (600 km). The Premium also comes standard with LED headlights, distinctive scuff plates and pedals, a black headliner, ambient lighting, and red contrast stitching on the front and rear seats.
Last but not least is Ford’s rival to the Model Y Performance and Kia EV6 GT. The Mach-E GT also has a 91 kWh battery pack and features a pair of electric motors with a combined 358 kW (480 hp) and 860 Nm (634 lb-ft). It can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds and travel up to 490 km (305 miles) on a single charge.
